Planned with Purpose.

Through Resolution No. 20201001-055, Austin City Council approved the legal documents needed for the creation of the Austin Economic Development Corporation (AEDC). Statutorily established under Chapter 431 Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 394 Texas Local Government Code and the Texas Nonprofit Corporation Law, the corporation is organized for the purpose of aiding and acting on behalf of the City in the performance of the City's governmental functions to accomplish any governmental purpose of the City. AEDC is structured broadly enough to manage a range of projects, which could include affordable housing development, public-private partnerships with private-led development.
